Tomorrow We Will Sing
By Bro. Ken Ervin
When the children of Israel
were delivered from the cruelty of the Egyptians by the mighty hand of God, one of the
first things they did was to sing to the Lord a new song. In Exodus 15: this song is
recorded. In verse 15 of this song we have these words, "In your unfailing Love you
will lead the people you have redeemed. In your strength you will guide them to you Holy
Dwelling". In verses 20-21 it is said, "then Mariam the prophetess, Aaron's
sister, took a tambourine in her hand, and all the women followed her, with tambourines
and dancing. Miriam sang to them, "Sing to the Lord, for He is highly exalted. The
horse and the rider He has hurled into the sea." Yes, the songs of Praise were lifted
up to the Lord who had delivered them. They were thankful and they rejoiced in their God.
In not some distant tomorrow we the believers
in Christ will have the wonderful privilege of singing a new song to the King of Kings and
Lord of Lord's. We will sing of His wonderful love and marvelous salvation. In His New
Kingdom will have peace and love; righteousness and justice will be the rule for all the
world. The Bible consistently announces that history is on the move--toward a planned
culmination. This present age can not continue much longer as it is marred by Satans
evil influence and by a society with twisted values and a humanity lost in its dark
passions. The institutional church can no longer lead a world into salvation when it has
fallen victim to one compromise after another.
When the authority of scripture is no longer
held as the final word, then who has the final word. When Jesus said, "I am the way,
the truth, and the life, and no man comes to the Father but by me." How is it, that
now the church seems to have another view, there are other ways that lead to God they may
say. This is truth enough that the judgement of God does begin at the house of God. Some
tomorrow history will reach its intended end and God's decisive intervention will forever
separate light from darkness, good from evil, truth from false. As true believers we look
upon this time with great expectation, Jesus coming will bring a new song in our hearts.
Whatever suffering we will face will seem unimportant in view of the glory that is to
come. We will toss aside the playthings of this world in order to win Christ and be found
by Him. We will look at the ways of the world and speak a decisive no!, to its value
system. Instead, we will take on the value system of Christ and His Kingdom.
Although some future events are not clear,
there are some that are very clear to those whos heart is open to God's eternal
plan. First-- the world will be cast into a worldwide tribulation. Second--Jesus will
return to this earth, this time not as a babe in a manger, but as the Great and Mighty
King the Lord of Host. Third--He is coming to establish His kingdom on Earth. How close
are we living to this God's tomorrow? Some believe it is very close at hand, even at the
door. Isaiah 46:11 reads as follows, "What I have said, that will I bring about; what
I have planned, that will I do."
We have now entered into a New Millennium and
the year 2000. History is being guided forward by the plan of God. We don't know how many
tomorrows are left, but we do know that what God has said, that will He do. So, let those
of us who believe, be excited, for in not so distant tomorrow, "WE WILL SING A NEW
SONG". God bless you and Happy 2000: Bro. Ken
