Living In the Eye of the Storm

by Bro. Ken

"But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God--having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them." II Timothy 3:1-5. Look over this list very closely. Do these traits fit our society? Are these the last days? If you come to the conclusion that these are the last days, Paul said to Timothy, they will be terrible times.

Jesus spoke these words, "Men will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken." Luke 21:26.

The Hebrew writer says this about the last days. At that time his voice shook the earth but now he has promised, Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens. The words "once more" indicate the removing of what can be shaken--that is created things--so that that what cannot be shaken may remain. Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire." Hebrews 12:26-29.

What ever you believe about oureconomy, we are living in a time of moral catastrophe. The storm clouds of God’s judgement are gathering quickly. The sad fact is not only is our society morally bankrupt, but our churches are filled with people who have a form of godliness but deny its power. Pulpits are weak with the will to share the Gospel with power and conviction. What must we the church do? First let me ask you, have you heard the call, that is the voice of God calling to return to me? The church itself is described as the called out ones. Called out from what, you may ask? Called out from the following after the patterns of this world into a Kingdom that cannot be shaken. I have never before in thirty years of ministry seen what I am seeing right now. There is a move of God on the hearts of His children to return to Him with all their hearts. To turn from the gods of this world, gods of greed, self-gratification, pride, disobedience, unforgiveness and the such. God is calling His church to prepare herself and enter with Him into the "Eye Of The Storm". He is saying, I will protect you in the terrible times that are coming, but you must put me first. Jesus said, "Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these other things will be added as well." Matthew 6:33. Let us heed Jesus’ words in Matthew 7:24-25, "Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock."

Here are a few things you can do that will protect you in the judgement that will soon be released in our country. First-- If you have left God as your first Love--return to Him, ask his forgiveness, ask Him to restore in you the burning love for Him and the desire to tell others of his gracious love. Second--Build your house on the rock! You do this by hearing Jesus’ words, then doing what He says in his word. If you need to forgive someone, then ask Him to help you do that. If God has impressed on your heart to carry out some kind of ministry, then ask Him to open the doors so it can happen. The key word is obedience, be obedient to God.

Third--Establish now in your life, a disciplined prayer life and Bible study time. You need to learn to pray with power and great faith. We are entering a time where we will see some wonderful miracles to the glory of Jesus. Faith comes from hearing God's word. Romans 10:17.

Fourth--Fellowship with true believers, believers that have been tested and have been found to have God's faith and His Love. You need to be a part of people like this.

Fifth--Trust in the Lord. "God is our refuge and our strength, a very present help in our trouble. We will not fear, though the earth be removed, though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof." Psalm 46:1-3.

Fellow believers we are about to enter some terrible times, join with me and the many others who have heard the call of God. Let us together enter with Christ into the "Eye of the Storm," He is our refuge and our peace, He will protect us.
