Everyday Testimony Of Him
We, as Christians, have
fellowship with God in Sunday worship. God has begun to testify of Himself to me through
everyday things during the week. He brings to my mind scripture and concepts of truth
about my relationship with Him. On Wednesday mornings, the other ladies of the church and
I meet for an hour of intercessory prayer. I am always blessed when I arrive and Lou Juan
has left the door open for me. You see Lou Juan walks and I can never tell when she has
arrived first. The key to the front door goes deep within my purse so finding it is a big
problem, and my arms are filled with books and purse.
To walk to the door and see that the bolt is
not closed is a relief. This testifies to me of God. His door is never locked. Scripture
tells us we are God's children and as such God's door is always open to us. What father
locks the door while his children are still out, but he waits for the child's return
before locking the door for the night? Likewise our heavenly Father's door in always
unlocked. Furthermore God gave us a doorman who stands ready to open the door for us. The
one who stands ready to open that door is Jesus Christ. "I am the way, the truth, and
the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Come all ye that labor and are heavy
laden, and I will give you rest. I go and prepare a place for you, that where I am you can
come too. I am the door (man): by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go
in and out and be nourished." As these things are brought to my mind, I then am moved
to praise God for His provision for me.
More recently another everyday thing testified
to me of God. As our car climbed toward 50,000 miles, we began to have some problems that
required work. So we became ever mindful of our warranty running out. Another testimony of
Him--my warranty will never expire with Jesus. I may develop a rattle, my brakes may fail,
my fuel injector may need cleaning but my warranty will not run out. I have a warranty
with the Father. 1 John 2:1 "If any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father,
Jesus Christ the righteous: and he is the propitiation for our sins; and not ours only,
but also for the sins of the whole world." Good news! You have a warranty too! Jesus
Christ paid the premium on that cross! Paid in full! Hallelujah!
You too can enter into fellowship with Him
through the everyday happenings in your life. Try it, you'll like it. If scripture occurs
to you about this everyday happening, look it up. Reread it. Perhaps commit it to memory.
It is something God wants you to know about Himself. If you don't have time then, just
praise Him for this truth He has shared.
